CALL FOR PAPERS
CSDA 2nd Special Issue on FUZZY SETS IN STATISTICS
Guest Editors : Ana Colubi, Didier Dubois and Frank Klawonn
Track on FUZZY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS
2nd International Workshop of the
ERCIM Working Group on Computing & Statistics
29-31 October 2009, Limassol, Cyprus
URL: http://www.dcs.bbk.ac.uk/ercim09/TracksFSA.html
Fuzzy sets have been used in recent years for modeling various kinds of imprecise information, especially linguistic data, expert opinions, as well as various kinds of ill-observed statistical data.
The second special issue and the track "Fuzzy Statistical Analysis" of the 2nd International Workshop of the ERCIM Working Group on Computing & Statistics focuses on the synergy existing between statistical and
fuzzy set-based methods in the joint handling of variability and imprecision for data analysis.
Special topics are:
- fuzzy random variables
- practical representations of imprecise probabilistic information and possibility theory
- statistical testing and inference techniques using fuzzy data
- classification using fuzzy sets, etc.
Invitation to submitting is also extended to original applications of fuzzy statistical methods in such fields as: Economics and Finance, Social Sciences, Bio-medicine, Environmental Sciences, Technology. The discussion of computational aspects in the above context is particularly welcome.
Papers submitted to the track and special issue should deal with one or more of the above mentioned topics. The papers must have a computational or data analytic component in order to be considered for publication. Authors who are uncertain about the suitability of their papers should contact the special issue editors. All submissions must contain original unpublished work which is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Submissions will be refereed according to standard international peer review procedures for Computational Science and Data Analysis. Information about the journal can be found at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/csda.
Important dates:
Submission of 1-page abstracts: 1 June 2009
Acceptance decision: 30 June 2009
Conference: 29-31 October 2009
Submission of full papers: 15 December 2009
Notification of decision: 30 March 2010 (tentative)
Final papers: 30 June 2010 (tentative)
Decisions for the conference presentations can be expected two weeks after submission. Papers for the special issue should be submitted directly to the Elsevier Electronic Submission tool EES:
